Echo Creative Club: Februar/February

Erstmal muss ich mich entschuldigen, dass ich so spät dran bin mit meinem Post für den Echo Creative Club.

Und das kam dabei raus: ,,Waldland-Anhänger", ein gestickter Anhänger mit Metallperlen und grünem Lederband. Ich liebe ihn!

 

And this is the outcome: "Woodland Pendant", an embroidered pendant with metal beads and green leather cord.. I love it!

Gerperlter Talisman/Beaded Talisman

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich euch eine angefangene Perlenfassung für eine Münze gezeigt, die ich vermutlich aus Versehen (statt eines 1-Euro-Stückes) als Wechselgeld bekommen habe. Es ist eine bulgarische 1-Lev-Münze und das Jesusbild auf der Rückseite fand ich ganz hübsch, zum Beispiel als Talisman fürs Auto oder als Schlüsselanhänger.

Some time ago I started a beaded bezel  for a coin I accidentally got as change (instead of a 1 Euro coin). It's a Bulgarian 1 Lev coin and I like the Jesus picture on the reverse side. Now that I finished the bezel and the bail, it could be a talisman for rearview in your car or a keychain.

Nicole's Bead Backing

Eine meiner größten Leidenschaften ist Perlensticken und ich bin immer auf der Suche nach neuen Stickuntergründen. Ich verwende Leder, echtes und künstliches, Filz und viele andere Materialien. Nun habe ich mir etwas gegönnt und mir die komplette Farbpalette von Nicole's Bead Backing bestellt, die Künstlerin, Perlerin und Bloggerin Nicole Campanella in ihrem Etsy Shop verkauft. Ich habe alle 16 Farben im Set bestellt und bin begeistert, wie fest das Filzgewebe ist. Ich denke, das ist ein toller Stickgrund, der sehr gut die Form hält. Natürlich muß man nicht die ganze Farbpalette bestellen, sondern kann Nicole auch wegen einzelner Farben kontaktieren. Besucht unbedingt auch mal ihren Blog und schaut euch ihre Perlenarbeiten und andere Kunst an.

One of my biggest passions in beadwork is bead embroidery and I'm always looking for new backgrounds to stitch on. I use leather, genuine and faux, felt and many other materials. Now I got myself a little treat and ordered some of Nicole's Bead Backing, sold in her Etsy Shop by fellow artist, beader and blogger Nicole Campanella. I ordered the whole color palette of now 16 colors and was amazed by the stiffness of the felt fabric. I think that will make a wonderful background, which can stand the weight of the beads and hold its shape when worn. You don't have to order the whole color palette, but can contact Nicole for single sheets. Also check out her blog and have a look at her beautiful beadwork and other art.

Arizona Skies

Diese Woche neu in meinem Artfire-Shop ist mein gesticktes "Arizona Skies"-Armband. Inspiriert von den südwestlichen Staaten der USA mit ihrer landschaftlichen Schönheit und ihren Farben. Diese Farben sprechen ich immer wieder an und ich bin mit dem Ergebnis dieser Freeform-Arbeit sehr zufrieden. This week's Artfire addition is a bead embroidered cuff named "Arizona Skies", because the beauty and the colors of the southwestern states of the USA inspired me to create this cuff. Margie & Me: # 129 Mosaic of Color

Ich bin so aufgeregt, denn es ist wieder Zeit für die Enthüllung einer neuen Margie & Me Challenge! Und ich mag mein Stück, daß ich dieses Mal eingereicht habe, sehr (obwohl ich am Anfang dachte, daß es eine absolute Design-Katastrophe wird *lach*). Das Farbschema war die # 129 aus Margie Deebs Buch "The Beader's Color Palette" und heißt Mosaic of Color. Das Farbschema ist durch die wunderschönen Mosaike in der islamischen Architektur inspiriert. Wenn ihr das Buch habt, schaut es euch unbedingt an. Es lohnt sich.

It's time for the reveal of another Margie & Me Challenge! I'm so excited about this one, because I love the outcome (although I though in the beginning that it would become a complete design disaster *lol*). The color scheme was the # 129 in Margie Deeb's book "The Beader's Color Palette" and is called Mosaic of Color. The color scheme is inspired by the mosaics found in Islamic architecture. If you have the book, check it out. It's really worth to have a look.

Es war für mich wirklich schwierig, die passenden Farben für mein Stück zusammenzustellen und selbst nachdem ich angefangen hatte zu arbeiten, war ich nicht wirklich sicher, ob das Design so aussieht, wie ich es haben wollte. Die Farben schienen nicht zusammen zu passen und ich habe einige Fehler während des Stickens gemacht. Aber als ich dann die Kanten gestickt und den Verschluß angebracht habe, war es exakt das, was ich mir vorgestellt hatte! Die Farben, die Form des gesamten Stückes und das Design: perfekt! Ich habe dieses gestickte Armband "Marrakesch" genannt, weil das die Stadt is, an die ich zuerst denke, wenn ich schöne islamische Architektur und Mosaike sehe. Vielen Dank auch wieder an Marcie (und Margie) für die Inspiration durch ihre Challenge!

I had a real hard time to nail down the colors I wanted to work with and even after I started working, I wasn't sure, if the design was what I intended. The colors don't seem to match and I made several mistakes while working. But with adding the edging and the clasp it was exactly what I wanted! The colors, the shape of the whole piece and the design: perfect! I called my bead embroidered cuff "City of Marrakech", because this city is what comes to my mind when I see beautiful Islamic architecture and mosaics. Thanks to Marcie (and Margie) for inspiring us all once more with her challenge!
