Noch ein sehr altes Projekt/Another very old UFO

Ich habe nochmal im Schrank gekramt und noch ein altes, unfertiges Projekt gefunden. Eine Mitteldecke, ca. 70 cm x 70 cm groß, mit angefangenem Kästchenstichrand mit Mäusezähnchen. Verflixt, wie ging das nochmal?

I went through my cupboards again and found another embroidery UFO. A tablecloth, approx. 70 cm x 70 cm, with the beginning of a picot edge hem and box stitch rounds. If I could only remember how that worked?

Nach einigem Suchen habe ich die Aneitung wieder gefunden und konnte heute den Rand fertigstellen.

After some searching I found a tutorial for the hem and finished it today.

Für das Mittelmotiv habe ich einen schönen keltischen Kreuzstich-Knoten in einem Buch von Ellen Moschitz gefunden. Ausgezählt hab ich es schon und der Rahmen ist schon in Arbeit.

For the center I found a very nice Celtic knot motif in cross stitch in an old book by Ellen Moschitz. In counted threads and already starte the frame.

Sehr alte Projekte/Very old UFOs

Während des Höhepunkts der Corona-Schließungen hier habe ich schon darüber nachgedacht, was wäre, wenn mir die Handarbeiten ausgehen (Ja, es darf herzhaft gelacht werden. Hab ich auch gemacht! :D). Und habe dann mal in den Schränken nach unfertigen Projekten gesucht. Diese beiden Kreuzstichprojekte, ungefähr vor 15-20 Jahren begonnen, habe ich rausgeholt und fertig gemacht.

On the peak of the closures due to the coronoa virus, I thought about maybe running out of handcrafted projects (Yes, you are allowed to laugh! I did that, too. :D). And then I went thorugh my cupboards to look for UFOs. I found these two cross stitch projects and finished them, 15-20 years after I started them.

Ich weiß nicht, warum ich so lange gewartet habe, um die beiden Sachen fertig zu machen. Ich liebe die Designs immer noch und freue mich auf die Benutzung.

Not sure why I waited so long to finish them. I still love these designs and look forward to put them to good use.

Ältere Stickerei/An Older Piece of Embroidery

Hier ist noch eine ältere Stickerei, die ich vor Jahren mal gemacht habe, als ich andere Sticktechniken als Kreuzstich gelernt habe. Es ist ein kleines Deckchen mit ca. 40x40 cm. Der Stoff ist hellgrün und ich habe mich für eine Stickerei Ton in Ton entschieden. Das Stück Stoff war aus einem Restpaket, das ich mal für wenig Geld gekauft habe. Aus den meisten dieser Reststücke sind nun bestickte Tischdecken geworden. :)

Here is an older piece of embroidery I made years ago, when I started to learn other types of embroidery than cross stitch. It is a small centerpiece/tablecloth with about 40x40 cm. The fabric color is a light green and I chose to go with the same color in the thread. The piece of fabric was one from a bunch of scraps I once bought for almost nothing. Most of those scraps are now embroidered tablecloths. :)

Schneemänner/Snowmen

So sahen meine Anfänge in Hardangerstickerei aus. Zwei fröhliche Schneemänner: einer auf Skiern, einer als Briefträger.

 

Those were my beginnings in Hardanger embroidery. Two happy snowmen: one skiing, one as a mailman.

Kleine Stickerei/Little Embroidery

So, ich glaube, der Sommer kommt. Mein Urlaub ist zwar erstmal (leider) vorbei, aber mit dieser kleinen Stickerei muss man doch gleich an einen schönen Sommerurlaub am Meer denken. Sie ziert nun ein Leinengeschirrtuch und ich habe sie mit einfädigem Sticktwist gestickt. Sehr klein also.

I think summer is coming. My holidays are (sadly) over now, but with this little embroidery I have to think of summer holidays by the sea at once. I embellished a linen dish towel and stitched it with a single thread of embroidery floss. So the ships are very small.

Blümchen-Anhänger/Flowerette Pendant

Etwas kleines, daß ich mit euch teilen möchte. Ich habe vor kurzem bei FMG einige Fotoanhänger bestellt. Ich hatte keine konkreten Pläne mit ihnen, aber dann kam mir diese Idee: eine kleine Kreuzstich-Blume statt eines Fotos würde sicher einen süßen Anhänger abgeben! Ich liebe diesen Anhänger, gerade weil er zwei meiner Lieblingshobbys verbindet: Sticken und Schmuckherstellung. Die Blume ist ziemlich winzig, nämlich nur 1,7 cm x 0,7 cm groß. Jetzt muß ich nur noch eine Kette dafür machen. Und mir überlegen, was ich mit den andere fünf Fotoanhängern anstelle.

A little something I'd like to share with you. I ordered some photo pendant blanks from FMG. I had no exact plans with them, but then I came up with this idea: a cross stitched little flower instead of a photo would make a cute little pendant! I really love how it turned out, because it combines two of my favorite crafting techniques: embroidery and jewelry making. The flower is really tiny and measures only 0.7" x 0.3". Now I only have to make a necklace for it. And come up with ideas for the other five pendant blanks.

5 Jahre..../5 years....

.... um das hier fertigzustellen. Donna von This Year's Dozen hat einen Post über ein Schmuckstück geschrieben, das bis zu seiner Fertigstellung 26 Monate gebraucht hat. Das kann ich locker toppen. Das Kreuzstich-Bild hier habe ich vor 5 Jahren angefangen und letzte Woche erst gerahmt. Das lag nicht so sehr daran, daß das Bild nicht fertig gestickt war, sondern daß ich erst keinen Rahmen hatte, dann mehrfach umgezogen bin, dann das Bild nicht mehr gefunden habe und so weiter. Aber letzte Woche war es dann soweit und hier ist nun das fertige Projekt: meine neue Pinnwand mit Kaktus!
Und heute abend fangen die Bogenkurse an! Natürlich werde ich berichten. *rumhibbel* :-)

.... to finish this. Donna over at This Year's Dozen posted about a jewelry set that took 26 months to finish. But I can say that I needed 5 years to fnish this x-stitch picture and get it framed. It wasn't so much about the picture not being ready, but first I didn't have a frame, then I had to move several times, then the pic got lost and so on. But last week the time has come and here is the finished project: my new studio dashboard with cactus!
Oh yes, and tonight the archery classes start! Can't wait! Of course I'll post about it. :-)
