T stands for....the coffee discussion and a new (old) watercolor set!

About two years ago I changed my employer and shortly after I brought home my private office things, including a Winsor & Newton Sketcher's Pocket Box, this beautiful little watercolor set went missing.

After waiting for two years for it to show up again, I finally gave in and bought a new one, when it was on sale. (I expect the old one showing up any time soon.:D)

I also ordered some Clairefontaine watercolor paper, as it was highly recommended to me by an online art friend.

New colors and new paper all in one is always a challenge, but here we go with a familiar topic: Birds! Starting with rough pencil sketches,....

....then adding some watercolor. Always keeping in mind, that....

....these are only sketches and not finished paintings.

Really love how this little Blue Tit turned out.

Great Tit.

And now for the coffee discussion and my entry ticket to "T stands for....". What's your favorite way to make coffee? A fully automatic bean to cup machine? A filter machine? Or the classic Italian Moka Express? Please share!

  1. Isn't that the way when something goes missing? Your little birds are lovely. My favorite is the robin. Here, the American Robin is a harbinger of Spring. I saw my first robin yesterday! I don't drink coffee, but when company comes I use a Keurig coffee machine and coffee pods. Happy T Day

  2. Your little watercolour birds are lovely! I use Winsor & Newton watercolours too -- it's a great brand. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog earlier today, I appreciate it!

  3. I absolutely adore your birds. I can't draw and choose not to, which makes your birds even more beautiful.

I start with whole beans and grind them when I make a pot of coffee. I'm a bit of a coffee snob because I want to start with the bean and go from there.

Thanks for sharing your new watercolors and drawings, as well as your coffee question with us for T this Tuesday, dear Kokopelli.

  4. That's what always happens. as soon as you buy a replacement the old one shows up. You must be happy to have those watercolors though, and your birds are beautifully done. I hope you had/are having a great T day. hugs-Erika

  5. Wonderful birds and watercoloring! Love them!

I have bought several replacement things only to then find the missing ones lately - hoping it is not a trend for me.

I am a boring coffee maker - we just use a regular pot. All the fun ways interest me though.

    Happy T-day and hugz

  6. Yes, as soon as you buy a new one, the lost one will turn up! But it hasn't yet, you say....
You do beautiful birds. What a joy!
Which method do I use to make coffee? None of the above. I use a French Press, which is a glass pot with a metal plunger/filter. I have a small one for one person. (Also a large one for when I have guests) I grind my coffee beans and put a few teaspoons of coffee in the glass pot, then add boiling water and put the plunger loosely on top. Leave for a few minutes, stir and put the plunger in place properly and push the coffee dregs to the bottom. Then I pour my coffee in my cup. In the meantime I have frothed up some (soya) milk in an electric frother. Pour froth on top of coffee: lovely cappuccino-type coffee.
