T stands for....Star of India Chai Latte!

During winter time a dear friend of mine orders citrus fruits wholesale and I usually get a box of pink grapefruits and sometimes half a box of mandarines. They are very tasty and are a delicious snack or made into fresh juice. I also share them with my parents, who love them, too.

This was the box we collected on Sunday.

Since we are still in lockdown and can't really meet (we would usually have a cup of tea and talk a while), we stood at the door and talked socially distanced correctly. *LOL* We talked about tea and my friend gave me some chai to try. It is called "Star of India Chai" (picture by The English Tearoom, link to their online shop). I saw at once why. Amazing, all the spices, right? Still have to brew myself a cup and enjoy.

I'm also making good progress on my Stripes Gone Crazy Cardigan and it's so much fun to make. The pattern looks complicated, but is really easy to follow and well written. No problems so far! :) I put it on two needles yesterday to try it on and it fits perfectly so far.

We also had some snow yesterday and so it's time to have another cup of tea and enjoy the view. Sharing this post with the lovely ladies and gents over at T stands for.... hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth.

  1. Those citrus boxes shipped from Florida on the railroads used to be a great fundraiser for scouts and other kids' organizations. I don't know if they still do that.

  2. We grow Pink Grapefruits in our garden and usually have so many I give them to our neighbours, one neighbour grills them with honey, we also have oranges, lemons, limes and kumquats, I make a lot of marmalade!! We are still getting strawberries growing too.
I have been leaving the fruits in bags on my neighbours gates over lockdown as we aren't allowed to visit at the moment,
    Happy T Day

  7. Lovely pink grapefruits. We love them too. We usually have them (cut in half)for breakfast. My hubby cuts them with a special little knife (bent) and then I can just spoon the parts out. Yumm!
The chai tea looks great too. This is what chai tea should look like. (well, mine does)I used to buy mine from a market stall that sells herbs and spices and loose tea mixes. But we can't travel to that market anymore, and if we could, that particular man might not be there, so I'll be patient. I have one mix I particularly like: Made with rooibos instead of black tea, but other wise with all the traditional chai ingredients. Very nice indeed.
I am so impressed with your knitting. Yes, it does look very complicated. But if it is well explained, that is half the work.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,

  9. I love your crazy stripes sweater. You're right, it does look very difficult. People will be impressed when you tell them you knit it yourself.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  14. My sincere apologies for visiting so very late, dear. I was here yesterday and admired your oranges, and that tea with the anise star looking like tea I would drink. Before I could comment, I got so sick, I couldn't stand up. I don't know what I ate, but it made me sick as a dog.

Your sweater is looking good, and you are moving along nicely on it.

Thanks for sharing your Star of India chai latte tea with us for T this week, and again, I apologize for being so late visiting.
