TAG TUESDAY: Down on the Farm (3)

 OK, I got one more tag for TAG TUESDAY's "Down on the Farm". Are you bored already? *LOL* I also added eyelets and nice ribbons to all of the tags, so now they look really nice. Here are all three so far.

Made this one for a very dear co-worker, who had a very bad fall and broke her knee joint and ankle. I visited her yesterday and she could barely walk (knee broken on the right and ankle on the left). We had a nice cup of tea together and talked a little, all including social distancing ofc.

I went through my digital paper stash and found this very nice Liza Lews apple paper. Horses and apples go perfectly together, so I took my latest drawing of a horse and made a miniture of it with ink pen.

Added a little apple to the back, too.

TAG TUESDAY: Down on the Farm (2)

I made another tag for TAG TUESDAY's Down on the Farm theme. It's so much fun to play around with my drawing and downsize them to miniature drawings to make them fit on a tag.  

I used my drawing of a Border Leicester sheep (in love with their HUGE ears and noses! :) ) and recreated it as a miniature with a very fine ink pen. Then I found this fun "knitted" papers from a free download from Hunkydory and thought those were perfect to add to my little sheep tag. Can't remember from where I got the tag sheet with the "Happy Birthday" tag on it. So this is the perfect gift tag for the wool lover or knitter in your family!

TAG TUESDAY: The Pink Lady(bird)

 Yesterday I already wrote about ladybirds being important helpers in my garden. Many little creatures are, not just ladybugs. That's why I love this quote from Dave Goulson, UK scientist and founder of the British Bumblebee Conservation Trust, well-known for his books and his research on insects and of course bumblebees. If you don't know his books, you should really read them. They are not only funny, but also very informative.

I lately got interested in linocut/linoprint again, after doing this about 25 years back when I was in school.  The first things I cut were a bumblebee and a ladybug. For this huge tag I used a background paper by Sally Denton and added the quote and the ladybug linoprint, which I colored with watercolor pencils. I also added white paper to the back to write a message on. There's a lot of space on this tag. *LOL* With the leftovers I made another smaller tag.

Einfache Weihnachtskarte/Easy Christmas Card

Schnelle und einfach Weihnachtskarte aus Stoffresten. Einfach die Streifen auf einen Trägerstoff nähen, oben den kleinen Stern nicht vergessen, dann die Stoffreste in Baumform schneiden und fertig. Besonders interessant für alle, die nähen und quilten. Wir haben ja immer viele Stoffreste rumliegen.

Quick and easy Christmas card I made from fabric scraps. Sew the strips to the background fabric, don't forget to add a little star at the top, then trim the fabric into a tree shape. That's it. Especially interesting for the quilters and sewers among us. We have tons of scraps. 

Papierlaternen/Paper Lanterns

Für meinen Geburtstag bastle ich gerade an einigen Prototypen von Papierlaternen. Mein Geburtstag fällt dieses Jahr zufälligerweise mit dem indischen Lichterfest Diwali zusammen und man findet im Internet haufenweise Anleitungen für Papierlaternen in Vorbereitung für Diwali.

My birthday preparations include the making of some paper lantern prototypes. My birthday 2017 is at the same time then Diwali, the Indian festival of lights and you can find a lot of paper lantern templates online related to the preparations for Diwali.

Ich beleuchte die Laternen aufgrund der Brandgefahr mit LED-Teelichtern.

I illuminate the lanterns with LED lights to avoid the danger of fire.

In den schönen Herbstfarben passen sie super zu den Deckchen, die ich vor kurzem für den Anlass gehäkelt habe.

With the beautiful fall Colors, the lanterns match the doilies, I recently crocheted for table decorations.

Tischdekoration/Table Decorations

Mein Geburtstag kommt schon bald und da habe ich mir gedacht, ich fange schon mal mit der Tischdeko an. Sechs Simply Squared Deckchen und dazu einige Herbstblätter aus Papier. Es fehlen nur noch passende Kerzen und Servietten, dann ist alles bereit für eine schöne Herbstparty.

My birthday is just around the Corner and I had an ealry start on table decorations this time. I already finished six Simply Squared Doilies and cut out a lot of paper fall leaves. Now I just have to get matching napkins and candles.

Weihnachtskarten/Christmas cards

Natürlich waren sie dieses Jahr gehäkelt.

 

Of course crochet was included this year.

 

Diesmal war es keine eigene Idee, sondern schamlos geklaut bei Atty S. Die Mittelteile habe ich nicht selbst gestaltet, sondern hier gefunden. Man könnte dafür auch schöne Motive von alten Weihnachtskarten verwenden.

 

This time it was not my own idea, but shamelessly stolen from Atty S. The cardboard centers can be found here. You could also recycle nice motifs from old Christmas cards.

Paint Party Friday: Zitate und Kreise/Quotes and Circles

Gestern habe ich hier auf meinem Blog über meine neuen Kunstmaterialien geschrieben und heute, für den PPF, möchte ich einige meiner Arbeiten, die ich damit erstellt habe, zeigen.

 

Yesterday I shared my new art supplies here on my blog and today, for PPF, I'd like to share some of the works I made with the new supplies. Don't you just love to play with new supplies, too? :)

 

 

Diese farbigen Kreise habe ich mit dem Kreisschneider ausgeschnitten und sie sind völlig ohne Mühe perfekt rund. Ich sehe sooooo viele Möglichkeiten für diese Kreise

 

The colorful circles were made with the circle cutter, which makes it so easy to cut out circles, which are perfectly round. I see soooooo many possibilities for these. 

 

 

Und nun zu meinen Tuschestiften und -taschenpinseln (die ich mir schon vor einer Weile gekauft habe). Ich mag den tiefschwarzen Strich, den sie erzeugen, der weder beim Radieren noch bei UV-Licht verblasst. Diese Zeichnung ist von einer Zeichnung, die ich im Internet gefunden habe, inspiriert.

 

And now on to my ink pens and pocket brushes (which I bought some time ago). I love the deep black they produce which also doesn't fade in light or get pale when erasing pencil lines. I was inspired by a drawing I found on the Internet to make these flowers.

 

 

Coloriert habe ich diese Zeichnung mit meinen neuen Aquarellstiften. Ich muss noch ein bisschen üben, aber mir gefallen die Effekte, die man mit den Stiften erzielen kann, sehr gut.

 

I used my new watercolor pencils to color the ink drawing. I got to practice a bit, but I love the effects they produce.

Paint Party Friday: Federn/Feathers

Happy PPF everyone!

 

Ich habe mir ein wenig neues Spielzeug gegönnt: einige Stempel, einige Schablonen und eine Box mit 24 Aquarellbuntstiften. Da ich von Federn seit langem fasziniert bin, habe ich als erstes einen Eulenfeder gezeichnet, Umrisse mit Tinte, koloriert mit meinen neuen Stiften. Und gleich eine Grußkarte draus gemacht.

 

I treated myself with some goodies: some stamps, some stencils and a box with 24 watercolor colored pencils. As I am fascinated by feathers as small works of art I tried my hand on an owl feather, outlined with ink and colored with my new pencils. And made a greeting card from it.

 

 

Ich habe ja auch einen Papagei und als ich Lia Griffiths Papierfedern gesehen habe, musste ich meinem Papagei eine Wanddeko hinter seinem Käfig spendieren. Natürlich in seinen Federfarben.

 

I also have a parrot and when I stumbled upon Lia Griffith's paper feathers, I had to make some into a wall decoration behind the cage of my parrot. Of course I chose his feather colors.

Bestellungen vom Adventsmarkt/Orders from Christmas Market

 

Ich habe auf dem Adventsmarkt einige Sachen verkauft und auch einige Bestellungen bekommen, wie zum Beispiel Gürtel kürzen oder diese Geldbeutelchen aufmotzen.

 

I sold some things on the Christmas market last weekend and also got some orders, for example shortening a belt or pimping those little purses with hearts.

 

Als Dank an meine Kunden habe ich das Päckchen in hübsches Geschenkpapier verpackt, mit einem Design von Lia Griffith. Es nennt sich Winter Woodland. Süß, gell? Dieses Geschenkpapier und viele weitere Freebies zum Geschenke verpacken findet ihr hier.

Ich glaube, einige dieser Reißnagel-Laternen (der Link führt zu Rachels toller Anleitung!) würden hervorragend zu meiner geplante Hawai'i-Dekoration in meiner Wohnung passen: leichtende Farben und Blumenmuster.

 

I plan on making some of these cool thumb tack lanterns (click on the link for Rachel's great tut on these!) for summer decoration in my apartment. The theme is Hawai'i and I thought these lanterns will be the perfect match: bright colors and floral designs.

Ein bisschen Halloween-Spaß/Some Halloween Fun

Na, fertig für ein bisschen Halloween-Spaß? Diese kleinen Schächtelchen habe ich als Tischdekoration für meinen Geburtstag gemacht und die Kinder (große UND kleine) sind total drauf abgefahren. Look what I found while cleaning up! Some nostalgic Santa Claus stickers. I think they would make for great Christmas cards. Oh yes, and I found more old stuff, so stay tuned. :-)

29. Dezember: Karte mit Fadengrafik/Card with Thread

Na, ist die nicht hübsch? Diese und andere Grußkarten mit Fadengrafik werden in der Kreativwerkstatt meines Arbeitgebers hergestellt. Ich habe einige davon zu Weihnachten an Geschäftspartner verschickt, auch mit anderen Designs und konnte nicht umhin, eine davon mit euch zu teilen. Fadengrafik ist ja sehr einfach zu machen, sieht aber immer toll aus.

Now isn't this beautiful? This greeting card is made in the creative workshop of my employer. I sent some of them for Christmas to business partners and had to share at least one with you all. Thread graphics are so easy to make and look so great!
