Dieses Jahr gab es sehr viele Schmetterlingsraupen. Sogar so viele, dass sie sich an der Hauswand und an den Festerdichtungen verpuppt haben.
This year there were lots of caterpillars. So many that they even built their cocoons on walls and windows.
Beide Puppen sind vom Kleinen Kohlweißling (Pieris rapae), die grüne oben im frühen Stadium der Verpuppung, die braune unten kurz vor dem Schlüpfen des Schmetterlings.
Both cocoons are of the cabbage butterfly (Pieris rapae), the green one above in an early stage of pupation, the Brown one below shortly before hatching.
Und hier ist er schon geschlüpft. Noch die Flügel aushärten lassen......
And here it is. Waiting for the wings to harden......

Wunderschöne Bilder! Lustigerweise habe ich hier bei uns so gut wie keine Raupen oder Schmetterlinge gesehen. Hm...

Nicole, I watched the cocoon every single day. I was afraid that I would miss it hatching, when I was out of town for some days.
