Während meiner Teilnahme am Drawing Lab 2011 bin ich über die ersten Zentangles gestolpert, die gerade vor allem in den USA ein großer Hit zu sein scheinen. Für mich sahen sie erstmal aus wie die Sachen, die ich zum Beispiel während eines Telefongesprächs oder einer langweiligen Sitzung zeichne. Aber das es einen ganze "Zentangle-Bewegung" gibt, wurde mir erst nach und nach klar. Mir gefallen Zentangles vor allem deswegen, weil es nur eine Farbe gibt: schwarz. Dadurch sind die Werkzeuge relativ limitiert und der Fokus geht hin zur eigenen Kreativität. Weiterhin finde ich es unglaublich beruhigend und ein Zentangle zu zeichnen, hat fast etwas Meditatives. I especially like that there is only one color: black. Due to that the tools are very limited and the focus shifted to you own creativity. Another point is that I find it very relaxing to draw a zentangle, almost like meditation.
