Some weeks ago during a week off work DH and I visited an outdoor museum we both love. They have about 40 hectares of land there with historic houses, workshops, rare domestic animals, gardens with medicinal herbs, flowers and veggies, meadows, cornfields, bee hives. Yes, it's like the perfect rural idyll (and when having a closer look, you see all the hard work that such a life meant back then)!
That is my favorite house there, mainly because of the lovely blue color of the studwork. We had lunch on a bench in front of it and I took some photos.
I planned on doing a linocut from this house, so I made a line drawing from a b/w print of the photo.
Not so sure now, as this seems a lot of fine work with the linocut knives. We will see. But love how it turned out.
We also met a lovely pair of geese, which were guarding their littles ones swimming in the pond. One seemed to be a wild grey goose and one a white domestic goose. We were allowed to come very close to the fence and watch them, but as soon as little kids showed up, one of the started hissing and flapped its wings. Maybe they had some bad experience with smaller kids.? Who knows.
I drew one of the geese with black ink.
Sharing with Paint Party Friday! Make sure to visit my fellow artists for PPF!

Happy PPF!
