Im Frühling hatte ich mir den Kartoffelturm von LIDL gekauft, einfach weil ich Bock drauf hatte, das mal auszuprobieren. So sah's das Ganze früher im Jahr aus. Zwei Sorten, Princess und Cheyenne habe ich gesetzt.
In spring I bought myself the potatoe tower from LIDl, simply because I wanted to try and grow potatoes. So here it is in a very early stage. I put in Princess and Cheyennne potatoes.
Inzwischen haben die Kartoffeln geblüht. Cheyenne zum Beispiel in diese hübschen Farbe.

Now the time has come to harvest the early Princess potatoes.
Aus dem ersten Topf kamen 1,5 kg. Nicht schlecht!

Ich habe den Topf wieder auf dem Turm platziert, mit Erde gefüllt und Grünkohl als Nachkultur eingesät.
I placed the empty pot on the tower, refilled with soil again and sowed green cabbbage for winter harvest.

OK maybe I am just not seeing it right but how does this work for potatoes? How do you hill them up? How ever it works your got a great crop.
AntwortenLöschenYou need to put in about 10 cm of soil, maybe a bit more, then the potaotes, cover them up and wait for them to sprout. And then hill them up every time they show above the soil. I was sceptical at first, too, but it worked.
