Seaside Winter Blanket CAL: Port Shepstone

I'm a bit behind with sharing the wonderful squares of the Seaside Winter Blanket CAL Zooty Owl is Hosting for us. Post Shepstone is regular square no 6 and the first large one in this CAL. Isn't this GORGEOUS?

I enjoyed making this square during my week off work, as a little treat when I finished the dues I had planned for the day. Here's the very beginning:

 

I was sitting by my small pond and watching the dragonflies. Can you imagine that those amazing critters hatch from such "ugly" larvae? This is the empty hull of one of the big ones, which is left behind once the dragonfly took off. To me they are not ugly, but very uselful keeping my pond mosquito free.
