10 Minute Warm Up and Paint Party Friday: Tussilago farfara

The Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) is one of the first flowers in spring and with its beautiful sunny yellow it is a promise of more floral beauty still to come.

I took some pictures of the blossoms which show much earlier than the leaves. Both can be made into cough herb tea or sirup.

And I also made a greeting card which I'd like to share with 10 Minute Warm Up and Paint Party Friday.

    2. Yes, they do a bit. But the blossoms are only half the size and the stems are totally different. Very important to know the differences if you gather them for teas like I do.

  4. Very pretty work. And interesting that you gather them for tea. I once tried to make tea from dandelions when I was camping, but it wasn't very good!

    1. Debbie, those are NOT dandelions, but coltsfoots. Coltsfoot is a good cough medicine. And herb doesn't always taste good, but I always try and mix in some better tasting herbs.
