Kleine Bestellung aus Jeans/Little order made from jeans

Eine kleine Bestellung fertig gemacht. Die Freundin meiner Nicht möchte unbedingt auch so eine Jeanstasche haben, wie ich sie für meine Nichte vor einigen Jahren gemacht habe. Kein Problem! Man hat ja eine ,,kleine" Auswahl an abgelegten Jeans vorrätig. Bärchen, handgewebtes Band, und Knopf dran und schon ist das Einzelstück fertig.

A little order fulfilled. My niece's friend asked for a jeans bag for her birthday, the same kind I made for my niece years ago. No problem, as I have quite a collection of worn out jeans at home. Little bear, handwoven ribbon and a button were also in my stash.

Kerzenglasüberzug die Zweite/Candle Jar Cover No 2

Es hat ziemlich viel geregnet in den letzten Tage und so gab's viel Häkelzeit. Und so kann ich euch heute das zweite Kerzenglas zeigen.

 

It rained a lot in the last days and I had a lot of  crochet time. The good thing about it is, that I can show you my second candle jar cover.

 

 

Angefangen habe ich mit dem Muster ,,Tea Light Candle Cosy" von meiner Häkelfreundin Angela. Am Ende musste ich es ein wenig anpassen, da mein Glas ein bißchen größer ist.. Gehäkelt habe ich mit Häkelgarn Nr. 10 in dunkelblau und einer 2,00 mm Häkelnadel. Wieder was von der Geschenkeliste abgearbeitet. :)

 

I started with a pattern by my crochet friend Angela called the Tea Light Candle Cosy, but had to modify a bit, as my jar was a bit bigger. I used size 10 crochet thread in dark blue and a 2.00 mm hook. Another one off the gift list. :)

Kerzenglas-Überzug/Candle Jar Cover

Ich habe meinen ersten Kerzenglasüberzug fertiggestellt und er gefällt mir wirklich gut.

 

I finished my first candle jar cover and I really like it.

 

 

Das Licht fällt toll durch das offene Spitzenmuster und wirft fantastische Schatten an die Wände.

 

The open lace pattern allows the candlelight to throw fantastic shadows on the walls.

 

Ich denke, ich werde einige davon als Weihnachtsgeschenke machen. Und was gibt es dieses Jahr bei euch? Habt ihr schon angefangen, Geschenk zu machen?

Ich habe alle drei Flaschenüberzüge fertig und sie gefallen mir sehr gut. Nun geht's weiter mit Überzügen für Kerzengläser. :)

 

I finished all three bottle covers now and I love them. Now I'm trying my hand on candle jar covers. Watch out! :)

Recycling: T-Shirt-Garn/T-Shirt Yarn

Um mal wieder etwas Recycling zu betreiben, habe ich diesmal T-Shirt-Garn gemacht.

 

I started another recycling project: making t-shirt yarn

 

 

Und gleich einen Badteppich damit angefangen. Bis jetzt sind ihm zwei T-Shirts zum Opfer gefallen, aber da ich einige Zeit meinen Schrank nicht ausgemistet habe, habe ich noch ein paar auf Vorrat.

 

I loved it so much, that I started a bath mat. Two t-shirt went into it so far, but there are a lot more in my stash, as I didn't clear out my closet for a long time.

Spaß mit Resten/Fun with Scraps

Ich habe endlich mal Zeit gefunden, meine ganzen Stoffreste und -restchen zusammenzunähen. Das Teil ist nun ungefähr so groß wie ein Platzset, aber ich habe es noch für kein bestimmtes Projekt vorgesehen. Aber es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, mal völlig ohne Plan drauflos zu nähen. Und bunt ist immer gut!

I finally found time to sew together all my fabric scraps. The piece is now as big as a place mat, but I do not have a certain project in mind for it. But it was a lot of fun to sew without any kind of plan. And colorful can never be wrong!

Tadaaaaa! Denim Rag Quilt

Ich weiß, daß ich diesen Post schon auf meinem Blogmonster-Blog veröffentlicht habe, aber viele von euch wollten gerne einen Kommentar loswerden, was aber nicht funktioniert hat. Das könnt ihr hier nun gerne nachholen.

So, es ist vollbracht! Mein erster Quilt! Obwohl er sehr einfach war, sowohl vom Muster als auch von der Herstellung, so war’s doch ein Stück harte Arbeit, vor allem das Schneiden der Nahtzugaben für die flauschigen Fransen. Aber mit dem Ergebnis bin ich sehr zufrieden.

Drei abgelegte Jeans und ein Jeanshemd wurden recycelt und in diesem Quilt zu neuem Leben erweckt. Das Muster stammt von Helen Cairns von Patchwork-and-Quilting.com und ich habe es mir schon 2007 ausgedruckt, als es noch ein kostenloses Muster war. Heute kann man es dort leider nur noch käuflich erwerben. Die Rückseite ist aus einem Baumwollstoff mit Spiralmuster von Buttinette. So, ich bin mal auf dem Sofa, mit meinem neuen Quilt kuscheln.

It’s finally done! My first quilt! Although no extraordinary pattern and easy in the making, it still was a good amount of work, especially clipping the seam allowances for the fluffy edges. But I am very happy with the outcome.

Three worn-out jeans and a denim shirt went into this quilt and started a new life. The pattern is from Helen Cairns of Patchwork-and-Quilting.com and I printed it back in 2007 when it was a free pattern. Today you can buy the pattern on Helen’s site. The backing is a cotton fabric with a spiral print from Buttinette (a very well-known firm in Germany selling all kinds of crafting supplies). OK, I’m off now on the sofa, cuddling up with my new quilt.
