Bilbie and Friends CAL: Block no 5 Michal Cables

Ich glaube, Rechteck Nr. 5 ist mein absoluter Favorit und auch die Farbe Pistachio finde ich super. Was meint ihr?

I think block no 5 is my absolute favorite so far and I'm also in love with the color Pisatchio. What do you think?

Bilbie and Friends CAL: Block no 4 Sharon G.

Rechteck Nr. 4 heißt Sharon G. und kommt in Dark Brown daher. Tolles Zopfmuster, das ich mir gut auf einer Jacke vrostellen könnte.

Block no 4 is called Sharon G. and was made in Dark Brown. Lovely cables, which I can imagine in a cardigan.

Bilbie and Friends CAL: Block no 3 Rozi Cables

Rechteck Nr. 3 heißt Rozi Cables und ich habe es mit Stylecraft Special DK in Cream gehäkelt. Sieht toll aus, nicht?

Block no 3 is called Rozi Cables and it looks great in Stylecraft Special DK Cream, doesn't it?

Bilbie and Friends CAL: Block no 2 Rotem

 Rechteck Nr. 2 beim Bilbie and Friends CAL habe ich in Stylecraft Special DK Mocha gehäkelt. Die Farben stimmen nicht ganz mit dem Pippin Mood Board überein, aber ich möchte ja Garn in meinem Fundus verbrauchen.

Block no 2 of the Bilbie and Friends CAL was crocheted in Stylecraft Special DK Mocha. The colors are not exactly matching the Pippin Mood Board, but I'm making this as a stash buster and have to use what I have in hand.

Bilbie and Friends CAL: Block no 1 Maayan D.

Beim Bilbie and Friends CAL hat es mich schon lange in den Fingern gejuckt und nun habe ich ihn endlich angefangen. Als ,,Stash Buster"-Projekt (also mit Garn aus meinem Fundus) und inspiriert von einem Pippin Poppycock Mood Board.

My fingers itched immediately, when I came across the Bilbie and Friends CAL and now I finally started it, as a stash buster project and inspired by a Pippin Poppycock Mood Board.

Rechteck Nr. 1 heißt Maayan D., gehäkelt in Stylecraft Special DK Camel mit einer Häkelnadel Nr. 4.

Block no 1 is called Maayan D., crocheted with Stylecraft Special DK camel and a 4 mm hook.

Bruinen: Ein Weihnachtsgeschenk/A Christmas gift

 Über ein halbes Jahr habe ich am Bruinen-Tuch von Morben Design gewerkelt, mit einigen Unterbrechungen, aber eine Woche vor Weihnachten war es dann fertig. Gleichzeitig war es mein erster Bobbel, den ich verarbeitet habe: Juni-Oase von Lady Dee's Traumgarne. Meine Mama hat sich tierisch über das Tuch gefreut, denn es war ihr Weihnachtsgeschenk.

For half a year I worked on and off on the Bruinen Shawl by Morben Design and just a week before Christmas I finished it. It was also my first Bobbel to work with (a German Name for Color Gradient yarn cakes): Juni-Oase by Lady Dee's Traumgarne. My Mom was so happy with the Shawl, that she wore it all Christmas Eve. It was my Christmas gift for her.

Since I really enjoy the Crochet Between Worlds Advent Meditation, I started a second set of coasters in candy colors. So how do you like These? Or do you prefer the Christmas colors?

Bruinen: Zielgerade/Homestretch

Ich bin ja so glücklich, dass ich auf beim Bruinen-Tuch auf der Zielgeraden bin. Versteht mich nicht falsch, ich finde das Tuch toll, das Garn gefällt mir auch (zumindest die Farbe ;) ), ich mag das Muster, aber das ist eins der Projekte, die man lieber heute als morgen fertig hat. Die Bobbels sind in Deutschland ja gerade unglaublich beliebt, aber man muss immer tierisch aufpassen, dass man alle Fäden beim Häkeln erwischt und dass man keine Masche auslässt, weil man das nicht immer gleich merkt. Also, Mama, das Tuch gefällt dir hoffentlich! ;)

So happy, that I'm on the homestretch with the Bruinen shawl. Don't get me wrong, I really love how it turns out, I like the yarn (at least the color ;) ), I love the pattern, but this is one of the projects I'd love to finish NOW. Those gradient yarn cakes with the single strands are crazy popular in Germany right now, but it's not easy to work with them, but so easy to miss one strand, while stitching away, or miss a stitch, as the yarn is so fluffy. Mom, you better love this shawl! ;)

Crochet Between Worlds Advent Meditation - Part 2

The Plane Trip Scarf: A pattern test for Zooty Owl

I had the honor to test Zooty Owl's new pattern - The Plane Trip Scarf. I used one of the new Stylecraft Batik Swirl Cakes (Purple Mist) and the colors don't show very well in this grey German winter weather. They are several shades of light and dark grey and a really nice shade of purple, all with that "batik" touch. I would have loved to go out to the park or the historic city center and take some nice photos of the shawl for you, but nope. Raining and snowing. I made the scarf a wee bit longer than in the pattern (170 cm/67") and also used the same yarn to make the border (one of three Options included in the pattern), so the cake will not be enough for a second scarf. I also didn't add flowers (three flower patterns are also part of the pattern), as the scarf is for a girl, who is into heavy metal/gothic music. So nothing too fancy. The pattern is very easy and relaxing to make, so it might be the perfect last minute gift. I finished mine in three days. There are lots of options for yarn, length, borders and embelishment, so you can personalize it and make your very own Plane Trip Scarf.

Attic 24 Weekend Bag!

Meine Nichte hat bald Geburtstag und ich habe eine Tasche für sie gehäkelt. Ich habe das Grundmuster der Attic 24 Weekend Bag verwendet und ein bißchen nach meinen Vorstellungen angepasst. Das Garn waren die Überbleibsel der Gorgeous Granny Bag, die ich vor einigen Monaten für mich selbst gehäkelt habe. Ich hoffe, die Tasche gefällt ihr.

My niece's birthday is at the end of December and I crocheted a bag for her. I basically used the pattern for the Attic 24 Weekend Bag and made some adjustments to it, concerning the handle, the closure and the flower embellishment. I used leftover yarn from my Gorgeous Granny Bag, which Im made for me some months ago. I hope she likes the bag.

Ja, was ist los hier bei Kokopelli Design? Weihnachten und die Adventszeit davor sind ja immer eine eher hektische Zeit für den Selbermacher. Und so sieht's hier auch aus. Manche Geschenke sind schon fertig, manche kurz davor und manche sind noch nicht mal angefangen. Dazwischen Kekse backen, dekorieren, Wildvögel mit Futter versorgen etc. etc etc. ;)

Yes, what's up on Kokopelli Design? Christmas and Advent time before are always a busy time for every DIY girl. And that's the fact here, too. Some gifts are finished, some are WIPs and some are not even started. In between there is cookie making, decorating, feeding the wild birds etc. etc. etc.

Wie man Quasten macht/How to tie a tassel

Ein paar Quasten für die fertigen Snowdrop Shawls sind auch angebracht. Ich hätte wohl Garn vom Anfang nehmen sollen, dann wären sie weniger lockig geworden. ;)

I made some tassels to add as a finishing touch to my Snowdrop Shawls. Maybe I should have taken them from the beginning of the yarn cake, so they would be less curly. ;)

Snowdrop Shawl and Caron Cakes

Habt ihr auch schon mal ein Knäuel Wolle gekauft und wart euch nicht sicher, ob die Farben euch wirklich zusagen? So ging es mir mit diesem Caron Cake Blueberry Kiwi, aber es waren Grün. und Blautöne, also habe ich ihn mal gekauft. Zusammen mit anderen. Und nun wurde er zum Schal. Noch nicht ganz fertig, aber soooo schön!

Did you ever buy a skein of yarn, you weren't really sure about the colors and if you like them? That's was the fact, when I bought this Caron Cake in Blueberry Kiwi. But it was in shades of green and blue, so what? And now I started a shawl with it

Es wird noch eine zweiten geben mit der Farbstellung Funfetti. Das wird eine harte Entscheidung, welchen ich behalte und welchen ich verschenke. Oder behalte ich beide? Oder verschenke ich beide? Man muss eine schwarze Winterjacke etwas aufpeppen. :)

There will be a second Shawl with another Caron Cake called Funfetti. That will be a hard decision which one to Keep and which one to gift. Or should I keep both or gift both? Decisions, decisions with a black winter jacket, which must be spiced up a bit. :)

Es ist noch nicht lange her, als ich auf der Suche nach einem Muster für ein Dreieckstuch in einer deutschsprachigen Häkelgruppe über die Muster von Jasmin Räsänen alias Morben Design gestolpert bin. Aus einem Bobbel von Lady Dee's Traumgarne entsteht nun Bruinen. Wunderschön, oder?

Not long ago while searching for a shawl pattern in one of the German crochet groups on FB, I came across the patterns by Jasmin Räsänen alias Morben Design. From a yarn cake by Lady Dee's Traumgarne I'm working on Bruinen. Beautiful, isn't it?

Rainbows after the Rain CAL: Second Cushion!

I finished the second Rainbows after the Rain cushion and I'm more in love with them each day. I'm especially proud of the fact, that I finally designed my first crochet square (thanks, Zelna, for pushing me off the cliff ;) ) and was invited by Zooty Owl to be part of the RAR CAL with my little square called the Dreamcatcher Square. It can also be found on Ravelry, so you can add it to your library. There are also some design examples to get inspired.

 

The other side of the second cushon is made of Granny Squares, which were part 2 of the RAR CAL.

 The two panels were joined with Grey and Fiesta. If you're interested in the colorway I used, check the color inspiration post I wrote for the CAL.
