Paint Party Friday: The Ringed Cross

Ich habe noch mehr keltische Kreuze gezeichnet, aber dieses hier ist mein Favorit. Ich glaube, das hier würde mit ein paar Rosenranken toll aussehen. Was denkt ihr?

I drew some more Celtic crosses, but the ringed cross is my favorite so far. I think about drawing one with rose twines around. What do you think?

Paint Party Friday: Zurück mit keltischer Kunst/Back with Celtic Art

Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass ich keltische Kunst und hier besonders keltische Knoten liebe. Die Konstruktion von keltischen Knoten wurde für mich deutlich einfacher, als ich über Cari Buziaks Aon Celtic Website gestolpert bin. Neben Anleitungen, einer Galerie ihrer Arbeiten und kostenlosen Mustern bietet sie eine Vorlage an, mit der man ganz einfach seine eigenen keltischen Knoten konstruieren kann. Auf diesem Papier sind alle ihre Anleitungen aufgebaut.

Inzwischen habe ich über die keltischen Knoten nicht nur zum Perlen zurückgefunden (s. oben und den fertigen Knoten hier), sondern habe auch wieder mit Zeichnen angefangen. Nachdem ich einen Blick auf Caris Celtic Cross Tutorials geworfen hatte, habe ich mich selbst an einem Kreuz versucht. Schauen wir mal, wo das hinführt: zu einem farbenfrohen Bild, zu einem schönen Stück Lederarbeit....... Zum Paint Party Friday geht's hier lang.

It's not a secret, that I love Celtic art, especially Celtic knotwork. The construction of knotwork became a lot easier, when I stumbled upon Cari Buziak's Aon Celtic Website. Besides a lot of tutorials, a gallery of her work and free patterns she shares a dotted grid paper. Based on this paper she builts her step by step tutorials with which you can create your own Celtic knotwork.

Not only am I back to beading with a Celtic trefoil knot which you can see above (finished knot can be seen here), but also back into drawing. After having a look at Cari's Celtic cross tutorials I decided to give the cross a try. So let's see where this leads: to a colorful painting, a beautiful piece of leatherwork........ To Paint Party Friday this way.

Paint Party Friday: Keltische Kunst/Celtic Art

Heute teile ich keltische Kunst beim Paint Party Friday, zuerst zu Papier gebracht und dann auf Leder übertragen. Und ja, diesmal habe ich wirklich Farbe (Lederfarbe allerdings) benutzt, um die die keltischen Knoten aufs Leder zu bringen. Dann noch ein wenig Prägearbeit, damit die Knoten plastischer wirken und nun muss ich die Schachtel noch zusammenbasteln.

Today I'm sharing some Celtic art with Paint Party Friday, done first on paper and then transfered to leather and yes, I really painted the leather with color (leather color that is). No pyrography this time. :) It was fun to draw and build the knots, transfer my work to the leather and then tool and paint them to make them look more three-dimensional. Now to assemble the box.

10 Minute Warm Up and Paint Party Friday: Tussilago farfara

Der Huflattich (Tussilago farfara) ist eine der ersten Blühpflanzen, die sich im Frühjahr zeigen und die schönen sonnengelben Blüten sind wie ein Versprechen für die ganze Blütenpracht, die da noch kommt.

 

The Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) is one of the first flowers in spring and with its beautiful sunny yellow it is a promise of more floral beauty still to come.

 

 

Ich habe einige Bilder von den Blüten gemacht, die lange vor den Blättern erscheinen. Man kann beides zu Hustentee verarbeiten oder auch Sirup davon kochen.

 

I took some pictures of the blossoms which show much earlier than the leaves. Both can be made into cough herb tea or sirup.

 

Und eine Grußkarte habe ich auch gezeichnet, die ich beim 10 Minute Warm Up und beim Paint Party Friday teilen werde.

Paint Party Friday: Reh, Bär und ein Wildschwein in Arbeit/Deer, Bear and a Wild Boar in Progress

Erinnert ihr euch an den hübschen kleinen Rehbock, den ich vor zwei Wochen hier gepostet habe? Hier ist er als fertiges Taschendesign, bereit zum Übertragen aufs Leder.

 

Remember my handsome little buck I shared two weeks ago? He turned into a purse design now and is ready to be burnt into leather.

 

 

Dann gab es da noch einen Grizzly, den ich schon eeeeeewig gepostet habe. Der ist nun schon als Beutel verfügbar, inklusive Bärenspur rund um den Beutel (20 Euro plus Versand, falls ihn jemand haben möchte :)).

 

Then there was a Grizzly I shared a loooong time ago. He now turned into a leather purse including a bear track going all the way round the purse (20 euros plus shipping, if anyone is interested).

 

 

 

Und das nächste Tierchen samt Spur ist auch schon in Arbeit: ein Wildschwein.

 

And the next animal is already in progress: a wild boar.

 

 

Ein kleiner Beutel mit einem einzelnen Abdruck ist auch schon entstanden (7 Euro plus Versand, gibt's natürlich auch als Bär, Wolf, Reh etc.).

10 Minute Warm Up: Reh/Deer

 

 

Keine Ahnung, warum mich Tierspuren so faszinieren. Vielleicht ist es das Geheimnisvolle an den Spuren, das Wissen, dass das Tier hier war, dass es existiert und dass ein Teil von ihm durch die Spuren noch immer hier ist.

 

I don't know why I'm so fascinated by animal tracks. Maybe it is the mystery about the tracks, knowing that the animal was here and left a bit of itself with the tracks.

 

 

 

 

Und ist mein Rehbock nicht ein ganz hübscher? Deshalb wird er beim 10 Minute Warm Up und beim Paint Party Friday dabei sein.

Paint Party Friday: Tierspuren/Animal Tracks

PPF hat bei Kokopelli Design mal wieder nichts mit Farbe und Pinsel zu tun, sondern mit Leder und Brandeisen.

 

Again PPF isn't about paint and brushes at Kokopelli Design, but about leather and painting with fire (or with a soldering iron).

 

 

Diese Tierspuren habe ich anhand von Vorlagen aus einem Buch gezeichnet und dann auf das Leder übertragen.

 

I drew these animal tracks after some pictures in a book and copied them onto the leather.

 

Diese Armbänder gefallen mir wirklich gut und sie kommen mit zum Weihnachtsmarkt. Bis auf das oberste, denn das ist schon seit längerem meins. :)

 

I really like these bracelets and I'll take them to the Christmas market for sale. Except the top one as that is mine sonce long. :)

PPF: von der Zeichnung zur fertigen Tasche/from a sketch to a finished bag

Wie ihr wisst, sind meine Posts für Paint Party Friday immer ein bißchen anders. Wenn ich etwas zeichne, dann geht es meistens nicht nur ums Zeichnen, sondern um einen Entwurf für ein anderes Projekt. Also verläßt meine Kunst sehr häufig das Papier und wechselt in ein anderes Medium.

 

As you might know, my posts for Paint Party Friday are always a bit different. When I'm drawing something it is mostly with a new project in my mind. So my art almost always leaves the paper and transmits into a new medium.

Paint Party Friday: Respekt/Respect

Ich habe in letzter Zeit eine Menge über Respekt gelernt und dann habe ich diesen schönen Spruch im Internet gefunden. Die Worte sagen eigentlich alles und ich habe nur ein paar florale Muster hinzugefügt. Mein Beitrag zu PPF!

 

I learnt a lot about respect lately and then I found this saying on the internet, so here's my entry for this week's PPF. The words say it all and I just added some floral designs.

Paint Party Friday: Stone Age Art

Ich probiere mich gerade an ein wenig Steinzeitkunst und habe einige Designs für eine Messerscheide gezeichnet. Diese Zeichnungen wurden von den Höhlenmalereien in Altamira (Spanien), Chauvet und Lascaux (beide Frankreich) inspiriert.

 

I'm playing around with Stone Age art and drew some designs for the same knife sheath. Those design are inspired by the beautiful cave paintings of Altamira (Spain), Chauvet and Lascaux (both France).

Here are some horses running under the moon and the sun.

Paint Party Friday: Kakteen in Farbe/Cacti in Color

Dank der Idee von Anna Maria habe ich meine Kakteen-Skizze auf Karton übertragen, coloriert und eine Karte draus gemacht. Mal sehen, wer die bekommt.

Thanks to the idea of Anna Maria I did my cacti sketch again on light cardboard, colored it with pastels and made a greeting card. Let's see who gets this.

Auch habe ich endlich die Geburtstagskarte für meine Nichte fertig gemacht. Es hat noch der rote Karton gefehlt. Ich denke, sie wird diesen Clown lieben. :-)

Also I finished the birthday card for my niece. The red cardboard was missing. I'm sure she will love this clown.

Paint Party Friday: Kleine Zeichnungen/Little Sketches

In letzter zeichne ich nicht wirklich viel, nur einige kleinere Verzierungen für meine Lederarbeiten, die sich dann auf Köchern und Taschen wiederfinden.

I do not draw a lot lately but work a lot with leather and did some quick sketches for decoration on those leather items like quivers and bags.

Ein Uhu: ich mag seinen Blick! Die Augen habe ich auf dem Lederköcher noch orange angemalt./An eagle owl: love his eyes! I painted his eyes orange on the quiver he is now on.

Tatzen reloaded: Die sind schon auf meinem Rückenköcher und nun auch auf einem kleinen Köcher für meine Bogenkids. Ich mag sie immer noch./Those are already on my back quiver and now on a small side quiver for my archery kids. I still like them.

Wölfe zeichnen muss ich noch ein bisschen üben./I still got to practice drawing wolves.

Paint Party Friday: Erinnerungen an Franziska/Memories of Franziska

Manche haben es schon gelesen. Leider musste ich nun auch meine zweite Katze Franziska einschläfern lassen. So traurig es ist, aber es war wohl keine Minute zu früh. Die Schmerzen waren vermutlich sehr schlimm.

Some of you already read about it. Sadly I had to put down my second cat Franziska last Saturday. I'm sad, but for her it must be a relief, as she was in severe pain.

Diese Zeichnungen zeigen sie bei ihrer Lieblingsbeschäftigung: Schlafen! Franziska war eine Kreuzung aus Sofakissen und Katze und hat 23,5 Stunden am Tag geschlafen. Von der verbleibenden halben Stunde hat sie fünf Minuten auf Fressen verwandt und 25 Minuten auf Nachdenken. Wie ihre Schwester Paula war sie ein Charakter und im Katzenhimmel können sie sich nun wieder richtig zoffen.

Her favorite way of spending time can be seen on these drawings: sleeping! Franziska was mix of couch cushion and cat and she was sleeping 23,5 hours a day. From the remaining 30 minutes she spent 5 on eating and 25 on thinking. Like her sister Paula she was a character and in cat heaven they can now argue about everything again: the best tinned food, the best place to sleep etc.

Paint Party Friday: Gedächtniskirche/Memorial Church

Diese Woche gibt es nur eine laaaaangsam fortschreitende Zeichnung zu sehen und zwar eine von der Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche in Berlin, für mich eine der beeindruckendsten Kirchen überhaupt. Natürlich werde ich die Zeichnung zeigen, wenn sie mal fertig ist.

This week there is only a slooooow going drawing to see: a drawing of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin. For me this is one of the most impressive churches in the world. Of course I'll show you the drawing once it's done.

Paint Party Friday: Katzenmotto/Cat Motto

Am Montag hatte meine Kollegin Geburtstag und da sie sich demnächst eine Katze anschaffen möchte, habe ich für sie dieses Bildchen gezeichnet. Einen Hund hat sie allerdings nicht. ;-)

On Monday was my colleagues birthday. She's thinking about getting herself a cat and so I drew this cat motto for her. And no, she does not have a dog. ;-)

Paint Party Friday: Muscheln vom Lieblingsstrand/Shells from my Favorite Beach

Das heutige Kunstwerk für den PPF is meinem Lieblingsstrand in Italien gewidmet (heute würde ich auch noch Seaglass verwenden, aber damals, als ich das Bild gemalt habe, wusste ich noch nichts davon). Hier also meine Strandkunst mit Muscheln und Schnecken von ,,meinem" Strand, Sand, Glasnuggets und kleinen Spiegelchen.
