Leckerer Preis/Tasty Prize

Sieht das nicht lecker aus? Das war der Preis für den 5. Platz beim letzten 3D-Bogenturnier. Diesmal ging es in den Schwarzwald. Danke an die Organisatoren des tollen Events!

Zentangle

Während meiner Teilnahme am Drawing Lab 2011 bin ich über die ersten Zentangles gestolpert, die gerade vor allem in den USA ein großer Hit zu sein scheinen. Für mich sahen sie erstmal aus wie die Sachen, die ich zum Beispiel während eines Telefongesprächs oder einer langweiligen Sitzung zeichne. Aber das es einen ganze "Zentangle-Bewegung" gibt, wurde mir erst nach und nach klar. Mir gefallen Zentangles vor allem deswegen, weil es nur eine Farbe gibt: schwarz. Dadurch sind die Werkzeuge relativ limitiert und der Fokus geht hin zur eigenen Kreativität. Weiterhin finde ich es unglaublich beruhigend und ein Zentangle zu zeichnen, hat fast etwas Meditatives. Auf Zentangle.com gibt es noch jede Menge weitere Infos. Die dortige Beschreibung von Zentangle trifft es ziemlich genau:

"Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity."

During my participation in Drawing Lab 2011 I stumbled upon the first zentangles, which seem to be a big hit lately, especially in the US. For me they looked like the things I draw while being on the phone or in a boring business meeting. But that there is a whole "zentangle movement" was new to me. I especially like that there is only one color: black. Due to that the tools are very limited and the focus shifted to you own creativity. Another point is that I find it very relaxing to draw a zentangle, almost like meditation. On Zentangle.com are lots of infos listed and the description of zentangles really hits the nail on the head:

"Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is a fascinating new art form that is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity."

Schlehenlikör/Blackthorn Liqueur

Was für eine Farbe! Sowas lässt mich immer meine Traurigkeit über das Ende des Sommers vergessen. Dann genieße ich den Herbst mit all seinen Farben so richtig und freue mich auf Äpfel, Holunder, Kastanien und natürlich die Schlehen. Leider war dieses Jahr ein schlechtes Schlehenjahr und es wird nur wenig Schlehenlikör geben. Aber dafür wird es bestimmt ein sehr guter Jahrgang. :-) Ich habe den Likör dieses Mal mit Schlehen, Zucker und Gin angesetzt und bin gespannt, wie er wird. Mein letzter Likörversuch mit Quitten war hervorragend und hoch geschätzt bei allen Verkostern.

What a color! Something like that always makes me happy and looking forward to fall with ist colors and I enjoy having all the apples, elderberries, chestnuts and of course the blackthorn berries. Sadly it was a bad blackthorn year and there will only be few blackthorn liqueur. But it will turn out very tasty I think. :-) This year I made the liqueur with blackthorn berries, sugar and gin and I can’t wait to taste it. My last liqueur was made with quinces and it was delicious and very popular amongst family and friends.

Swap: Ohrringe/Earrings

Ich habe mal wieder an einem Swap teilgenommen, der von Tamara von Handcrafted Baubles by Tamara organisiert wurde. Die Ohrringe sind zwar schon seit längerem verschickt worden, aber die Ergebnisse wollte ich euch trotzdem noch zeigen.

Ich habe diese hübschen Ohrringe von Vicki aus Texas bekommen. Und alle in meiner Lieblingsfarbe! Vickis Blog ist übrigens auch sehenswert. Sie macht gerade tolle FIMO-Perlen.

Those are the earrings I got from Vicki, who's living in Texas and who shows her work (beautiful polymer clay beads atm) on her blog. And all earrings are in my fav color!

Mein Ohrgeschmeide ging an Lody, die selbst wunderbare Perlenstickereien macht und ebenfalls auf ihrem Blog zeigt. Sie hat Ohrringe in kupfer bekommen, mit Perlmuttscheiben und kleinen Herzperlen.

And these are the earrings I sent to Lody, who's making amazing bead embroidery pieces, too, and shows them on her blog. Her earrings are made with mother of pearl, copper beads and cute little heart beads.
