Margie & Me #63: Portrait of a Lady with an Ermine

Marcie von La Bella Joya hat eine 14tägige Challenge auf ihrem Blog, genannt Margie & Me, an der ich nun zum ersten Mal teilgenommen habe. Beinahe alle Perlenkünstler kennen Margie Deeb und ihre Arbeiten und Bücher über Farbe und Farbkombinationen. Aus ihrem Buch ,,The Beader's Color Palette" sucht Marcie nun alle 14 Tage eine neue Farbkombination aus und die Teilnehmer lassen sich davon zu einer Arbeit inspirieren. Mehr erfahrt ihr auf Marcies Blog. Einfach mal mitmachen, es macht einen Riesenspaß! Ihr müßt nich zwangsläufig das Buch haben, da die jeweiligen Farben und Bilder auch gepostet werden.

Marcie over at La Bella Joya posted a challenge every two weeks, called Margie & Me. I participated for the first time and it was a lot of fun. Almost all beaders know Margie Deeb and her works about colors and color combinations. Marcie chooses a new color combination from Margie Deeb's book "The Beader's Color Palette" and the participants get inspired by it and create a piece. More infos can be seen on Marcie's blog. Heute hat einer meiner besten Freunde und Bogenkameraden Geburtstag und hier seht ihr mein Geschenk für meinen ,,Schwarzen Mann". Einen kleinen Seitenköcher mit einem flachen fünfeckigen Türkenbundknoten. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!

Today is the birthday of one of my dearest friends and archery companions. So here's what I made for my "Man in Black". A mini side quiver in black leather with a five sided flat turk's head knot. Happy Birthday!

Neue Bogenkurse/New Archery Classes

Die Herbst-Bogenkurse laufen schon seit zwei Wochen und durch die acht Stunden Bogenschießen pro Woche hänge ich etwas hinterher mit meinem Blog. Die Bogenkurse schon bei der Anmeldung wieder ein voller Erfolg und es wollten sich deutlich mehr Leute anmelden, als es plätze gab. Und so haben wir wieder zwei Kurse mit je zehn Leuten wie auch schon im Sommer. Dieses Mal sind die Klassen gut gemischt, was sowohl Alter als auch Geschlecht angeht (im Sommer gab es ja einen reinen Herrenkurs) und wir haben zwei tolle Gruppen, die das Bogenschießen richtig genießen. Die Bilder sind alle von meiner Mittwochsgruppe, da ich noch nicht dazu gekommen bin, auch welche von der Montagsgruppe zu machen. Aber es gibt bald mehr.

The fall archery classes are already up and running for two weeks now, but I was busy, busy making my way through 8 hours of archery classes and practice a week plus the everyday stuff, so I'm a bit late with posting in general and some news about the classes. Again we had a huge success with the number of participants: there were a lot more sign-ups than places available and so we took off with two classes and 20 people like we did in summer. The fall classes are well mixed, concerning age and gender (remember I had a only-males class last summer), and we have two fun groups enjoying the magic of archery. The pics are from my Wednesday group, as I didn't have the chance to snap pics from the Monday group. So there will be more.

Heute gibt es nochmal Bäume zu sehen und zwar die von Moira. Moira ist die Künstlerin hinter Mystic Pesto and sie ist sehr talentiert im Arbeiten mit Draht. Ich mag besonders ihre verschiedenen Chainmaille-Designs, denen sie immer eine persönliche Note verleiht, indem sie eine Kleinigkeit verändert. Einen ihrer Lebensbäume liebe ich ganz besonders und zwar den auf dem zweiten Bild. Sie hat einfach die Perlen weggelassen und nur Draht in drei Farben verwendet. Ist der nicht toll?

Today I'd like to share with you the trees of life mady by Moira. Moira is the artist behind Mystic Pesto and she's incredibly talented with wire. I especially love her chainmaille designs and she often comes up with new weaves she tried and modified, so they have a kind of "personal note". One of her trees really amazed me, as she simply left out the beads and made an only wire tree with three colors of wire. Now how cool is that?
